Successful Christians

The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, has answered our prayers by giving us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him and enlightening the eyes of our understanding. Hallelujah! Just as Timothy was instructed by Paul in 2Timothy 4:1 to "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine," we also are continuing to preach God's word faithfully here at Followers of God Fellowship. We know that this is absolutely vital for the success of them that hear us.

1Timothy 4:16  Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. 

1Corinthians 1:18 says, "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."  This declares, what we have experienced ourselves, that the preaching of the cross is the power of God!

1Corinthians 1:21 says, "For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe." This too proclaims powerful truth, preaching saves us!

I will boldly proclaim, if you are not hearing preaching that is full of sound doctrine and truth, then you have no Christian success. This is really the sad testimony of many so-called Christians today. I believe the days we live in are even as Paul wrote in 2Timothy 4:3-4, "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." Many reject the successful Christianity God has for them and they give heed to lies, false doctrines, vain philosophies, doctrines of devils, seducing spirits, traditions and commandments of men, and settle for a form of godliness. The good news is that you can be successful. Come to Followers of God Fellowship where Christ is the head of the church and truth is what we preach.

But, I would have you to know that hearing sound truth preached is only the beginning of your success. Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-27, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it." True Christian success is only accomplished by being a doer of Gods word!  

James 1:21-25 says it like this, "Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. 

Jesus said in Matthew 7:13, Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. You can be one of the few successful Christians that will hear well done thou good and faithful servant.
