Preface

This is a biblical, scriptural, exhaustive, and true bible study on the doctrine of the Godhead.
The doctrine of the Godhead is one of extreme importance because it is a declaration of who God is, his nature.
The following definitions show us that the Godhead is divinity and that divinity is the nature of God, Deity, and simply God.

Godhead - Strong's concordance:
G2320 θεότης theotēs theh-ot'-ace From G2316; divinity (abstractly): - godhead.

Divinity - Webster's dictionary:
1. The state of being divine; Deity; Godhead; the nature or essence of God.
2. God; the Deity; the Supreme Being.

As we start I would like to make you aware that there are some conflicting doctrines taught in our present day in so many churches when it comes to the teaching of the Godhead. The mainstream, number one, false conflicting doctrine of our day concerning the Godhead would be, of course, the Trinitarian doctrine of the Godhead, which came from the Roman Catholic church. It teaches: God is the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (which is true), but they say that the Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is not the Father. Yet they teach that they are co-equal, co-existent, co-eternal and all Deity.

If that is true, then truly God would be three separate gods. Below in italic font is an example of this false doctrine that I came across from a churches statement of faith.

"God is triune
There is one God: infinite, eternal, almighty, and perfect in holiness, truth, and love. In the unity of the godhead there are three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, co-existent, co-equal, co-eternal, executing distinct but harmonious offices. The Father is not the Son and the Son is not the Holy Spirit, yet each is truly Deity. One God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—is the foundation of Christian faith and life."

They start and end their statement right by saying, “There is one God” - “One God”, but as you can clearly see they define God in between their one God statement as three and not one. Because if the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are all God but the Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Holy Spirit, then you would have three separate Gods.

In the course of this bible study we will see that the three are one and not that the one is three.

1John 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

The Trinitarian believes that God the Father is the first person of the Godhead, God the Son is the second person of the Godhead, and that God the Holy Ghost is the third person of the Godhead.

Jesus is not in the Godhead as a second person, but the fulness of the Godhead is in him.

Colossians 2:8-10
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
